Due to the winter weather closure the week of February 15 the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees voted to adjust the dates of the 5th and 6th six weeks. This means:
- The 5th six weeks will now end April 9, instead of April 1.
- The 6th six weeks will begin on April 12.
This will give teachers an extra week to complete lessons and students an extra week to complete assignments.
Nothing else about the calendar will change. Due to a waiver from the state and extra minutes built into the calendar, Bryan ISD does not need to make up any of the days missed. All early release days and student holidays remain the same, and the school year will still end on Friday, May 28.
While unrelated to the week off, another change is that all students at Bryan Collegiate High School, Bryan High School and Rudder High School, except those taking the English 1 and English 2 exams, will learn from home on April 6, 2021, and April 8, 2021. These tests must be taken in person, and this will allow the schools to keep students properly distanced.
Finally, as a reminder, there will be no final exams in May for middle or high school students.
